The magnitude 6.4 temblor that hit at 5:54 p.m. 85 years ago killed about 120 people. What are our chances of facing another potentially deadly disaster?” – Long Beach Press Telegram

DeForest Park Neighborhood Association along with Vice Mayor Rex Richardson​ will be hosting the California Earth Authority at DPNA’s meeting on Thursday, August 16 (save the date – details TBA). California Earthquake Authority’s presentation offers insight on what communities and businesses can do to prepare for an earthquake, and what recovery steps to take following a natural disaster. They will also touch on their organization’s exciting new programs and initiatives launched this year. Additionally, the presentation covers a historical perspective on earthquakes in California, where major earthquake faults are located and other pertinent facts and figures.
